Personality:
Kiyo is a shy introvert with an interest in magic, myths, and legends. She tends to keep to herself, and freeze in situations with too many people. No matter how hard she tries to push past the social anxiety, she fails, and winds up hiding somewhere or otherwise running away. Each failure on that front is a blow to her self esteem.
Kiyo wants to be an energetic cute girl, like the idols she watched growing up. She wants nothing more than the ability to reach out to someone confidently, and make them smile. As Dessie she acts like a confident, energetic, and happy girl she wants to be. She has a tendency to say words three times. As Dessie she can go up to someone new and strike up a conversation.
Background:
Kiyo grew up as the middle child of a middle class household. She'd always been terribly shy, but she loved to sing. She loved to sing, and she loved the singers and idols on TV. She grew up with a love of myths and magic, and when she was 10 she started making up a cool genie character, Desiree, for herself. Over the next two years she developed the character, made her more energetic, and shortened the name to Dessie.
Finding a balance between Dessie and Kiyo was hard. She wanted to be Dessie all of the time, but knew if her classmates saw her trying to be, she'd be made fun of. So she mostly took on the Dessie persona far away from her peers.
When she was 16 she decided to enter the school's talent show. She was far too nervous to actually perform as she was, and was about to give up when she decided that she was going to come onstage as Dessie. She won that talent show, and slowly started to enter other local events as Dessie too. She was eventually scouted and became an actual idol. Slowly, but surely she's getting more used to being on stage.

Background:
Dessie has lived a long life, here bottle being passed from person to person as she granted wishes without her opinion being considered. Recently her bottle was found by someone who gave her a choice: Either be set free completely, continue the cycle she had found herself in, or become an idol. After discovering how many people she could make happy through the last option, that’s what she chose. Dessie only has three wishes she can grant before she has to move on, however, so she has to be careful with the magic she uses.
